Summer's Here, Can You Believe It?

Moms, this is a great time of year to redecorate the kids rooms and get them involved in the process!

Put down some painter's cloth on the floor, give them a little roller and paint pan, and they can work on the lower half of the walls while you work above.

If you're refinishing some furniture ( check out DIY Decor for some ideas ) and hesitate to let them do the paint finish, by all means they can sand, wipe the piece down and do a coat of primer for you. Be sure to use all the proper safety precautions such as dust mask and safety glasses, they really get into all that stuff!

Put them to work doing some craft projects for the accessories. Kids can glue glass blobs, shells and other findings to wooden items like picture frames or trinket boxes. They can even do their own paint finish and add stickers of their choice.

Speaking of stickers, they can also use wall stickers to decorate their walls and furniture. Or help them cut patterns out of some cheap wallpaper and show them how to apply it to the walls and furniture. An old trunk would look great collaged with different wallpapers, maps or posters etc.
